Alex Rodriguez

The former Yankeee also known as A-Rod, (or A-Roid if you’re a NY Met fan) likes to live large. Alex and hos former wife lived here before his sex scandal forced them to move to Splitsville. Originally purchased for $7.4 million,  the former Yankee’s A-Rod 4 bedrooms, 6 1/2 baths at Trump Park Avenue was sold for a reported  $14 million.

Via The Real Deal:

“Located in Lenox Hill, the Trump Park Avenue at 502 Park Avenue is one of Donald Trumps most coveted properties, but it has little of his trademark grandeur. Located in the hoighty-toighty Lenox Hill neighborhood of New York City, and unfortunately built in in 1929 on the cusp of the Great Depression, the building has changed hands (and names) several times. For years it had been home to a number of hotels: first the Viceroy, then the Cromwell Arms, and finally Hotel Delmonico, where it was home to several celebrities, including Ed Sullivan, and the alleged location of where Bob Dylan introduced marijuana to the Beatles. In 2001 Trump bought the building for $115 million and within a couple years converted it from a hotel into a 120-unit luxury residential condominium, though with the intention of keeping some hotel-esque features like maid and laundry service. The building still has touches of pre-war, including hand-laid brick, but Trump has pumped nearly $100 million into renovating it. Today the property continues to hue to its star-hugging past. A number of high-profile renters have lived there, including the owner of the New York Giants, infamous baseball player Alex Rodriguez, and Rupert Murdoch.”

“YOUR MAMAS NOTES: When married celebrities go splitsville the dee–vorce often results in their high priced homes being sold off so the assets can be divided. The scandalous and public parting of lavishly compensated New York Yankees third baseman Alexander “A-Rod” Rodriquez and his ex-wifey Cynthia is just one example. Amid continuing rumors and reports of A-Rod hooking up with Madonna the Material Mommy, not only have the one time happy couple and parents of three put their Coral Gables waterfront estate on the market with a $14,876,000 asking price, thanks to a very well connected New York tipster we’ll call Mister Greenjeans, we’ve learned that the Park Avenue digs of the recently dee–vorced duo has also popped up on the market with an asking price of $14,000,000.

A-Rod and the ex-Missus scooped up their approximately 4,600 square foot condo at the Trump Park Avenue building in July of 2005 for a reported $7,400,000. The records Your Mama accessed support that purchase price. The Trump Park Avenue is the same utterly banal Costas Kondylis designed apartment tower where records show billionaire drug distributor Stewart Rahr owns a 30th floor unit, the dee–voon Ivanka Trump shacks up in a surprisingly modest apartment on the sixth floor and where Big Daddy Donald Trump has the 4 bedroom and 6.5 bathroom penthouse listed at a silly-stoopid asking price of $51,000,000, up from the forty-five million he was originally asking for the three terrace doo–plex white elephant.”
